The rainy season has begun in Maebashi

前橋も梅雨入りしました

This is Kanako Yoshida from YOUYOUANG.
I hope this message finds you well.

Light rain has been falling since morning in Maebashi, and the hydrangeas are looking even more vibrant.

Today, June 10th, marks the beginning of the rainy season in the Kanto-Koshinetsu region, which includes Tokyo and Maebashi. For now, I’ll leave the garden watering to the rain. I think I’ll treat myself to a beautiful new umbrella and enjoy the season in comfort.

This spring, I had the pleasure of creating several original incense products.

First is the dreamlike and elegant Ashikaga Flower Park.
Whether you go during the day or at night, the breathtaking beauty of the wisteria leaves you speechless—it’s truly stunning.

We created an incense inspired by these magnificent wisteria blossoms.

It was thankfully a quick sellout, and I personally went to deliver a restock.

While setting up the display at the shop, I was thrilled to see customers placing the incense into their shopping bags without a moment’s hesitation.

Another special place is Ushiku Daibutsu, a peaceful sanctuary for many, known for its majestic Great Buddha and beautifully designed gardens.

The lotus is considered the flower of the Buddha. We created a lotus-scented incense with a soft and pure fragrance.

I visited several times for meetings, took photos of the Buddha, and made sketches. The design of the packaging features the faint silhouette of the Buddha seen through blooming lotus flowers.

This incense has also received a wonderful response, and we quickly sent additional stock. I couldn’t be more grateful.

Short-sized incense sticks have been especially popular for both products. Come to think of it, I also tend to reach for the shorter ones at home. There’s less worry about falling ash making a mess, and since I don’t usually recite sutras, I don’t spend a long time in front of the altar.

In these rapidly changing times, I feel sincerely grateful that people continue to enjoy using incense.

Last weekend, I took my mother to Nakanojo Gardens to see the roses in full bloom. As always, the beauty was overwhelming. This garden is one of my absolute favorites—every time I visit, I find myself thinking, “I never want to leave.”
The rose garden is thoughtfully divided by flower color and theme. Not only are the roses breathtaking, but even the tiny pansies at your feet and the complementary colored flowers are meticulously arranged.
Ah—I really must get to work on an incense made with rose petals!

Our new product for June is the "Nei" series.
It includes three of our popular thick bottles in a charming gift box, along with an incense holder.
We’ll be exhibiting at the Interior Life Exhibition from June 18th to 20th. There will be many new items on display, so if you have the time, we’d love to see you there.

Moving forward, I want to continue creating incense with natural scents reminiscent of fresh flowers. Unique and striking fragrances have their place, but for daily life, I believe the best scents are the ones that bring calm without overwhelming the senses.

As the weather shifts and temperatures fluctuate, it’s easy to feel under the weather. When you head out, don’t forget to bring a scarf—just in case.
